I have heard of people using a knife and cutting out a "frame" for a photo or journaling. What you do it cut out a piece and fold the edges back so it looks matted, but it's just the other side of the paper.

In addition to the above suggestions, you can also cut away the portion that your journal box and photos cover. You can then use those pieces on the other page of a two page layout. (Does this make sense? You cut away to part of the paper that would be hidden under the journal box and photos.)
This makes your paper last longer and you get a two page spread out of one sheet.

Hope this helps! :)

I'd use that instead of the white insert that comes with the scrapbooks. You'll see one pattern and when you turn the page, that page will be on the reverse of the paper.
Another idea is to make Journaling Matchbook to hold things.

My partner and I just did a page where we cut a paper in 3 sections. We flipped the middle around and she sewed the seams with a zigzag stitch. It turned out beautiful. On another one we blocked out about 8-9 sections on a plain piece of cardstock, then cut different size squares and rectangles out of dbl sided paper scraps to fit our template. Again it turned out very cool.

You can fold a corner of a piece down so that both sides show. You can simply cut different pieces out of the same page and put the glue on the different sides.

Well, I would go and use both sides, just don't use too much glue, or markers on one side, because it will sink through to the other side, and you will see the words through the paper.

Hope this Helps!

Have a Nice Day!;-)
